Radiant Vermin

Victor Kalka’s production sparkles with wit and dark jibes [...] Radiant Vermin stays to haunt you with its pathos and guilty laughter.

Macbeth meets Grand Designs in the Australian premiere of Philip Ridley’s pitch black comedy

Jill and Ollie want you to know that they are good people.

A young couple are offered a too good to be true deal: their dream home, no strings attached*, sure it’s a fixer-upper, but hey, it’s free. On the first night in the house a home invasion goes wrong and they accidentally kill the intruder - suddenly and miraculously they have the kitchen of their dreams… The more people they kill, the nicer the house becomes. They quickly spiral into a vortex of greed, guilt, madness and materialism. Ridley’s script is a razor sharp modern morality tale for those who want it all.

*there are always strings.

This [...] Australian premiere was given a solid fantasy-meets-reality-TV-couple-gone-totally-beserk veneer. It featured strong direction by Victor Kalka of its deliciously disparate characters and narrative elements.
